As an Environmental Services Technician (EVS) at CHI Health, you’ll join a team of EVS techs who prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and visitors by ensuring a safe and sanitized environment for all.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to understand the importance of why and how we sanitize and disinfect different environments. You are in total control of your space- where process and supplies matter. You appreciate the cleanliness of our hospital, and it is a direct reflection of how we care for the people in our community.
We provide you with personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep you safe and while you’re providing that same level of safety to others.
What you will do:
- Cleans and disinfects patient, ancillary and public areas as assigned daily following established procedures.
- Operates manual, battery-powered and electric equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners and vacuums. Maintains and stores all equipment in a safe, sanitary manner.
- Collects, handles and disposes of designated waste streams and soiled linens in the prescribed manner.
- Completes stat and routine discharge room cleans.
- Identifies and reports work orders for maintenance/refurbishing needs.
- Inspects EVS equipment for cleanliness and need for repair.
