Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our National Resident Nurse at Dignity Health YRMC, now part of CommonSpirit Health, you'll bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world nursing practice. You'll work closely with a clinical preceptor to build trust with patients and apply your knowledge in a supportive environment.

- Deliver excellence in patient care through assessing formulating nursing diagnoses and establishing goals planning and implementing intervention and evaluating patient care outcomes.
- Read analyze and interpret hospital policies and procedures professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Write reports and procedures and document in the medical record.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers managers patients physicians family members and the general public.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as weights dosages flow rates proportions percentages and volume.
- Apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations. Define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Required
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing required;
0-12 months of professional nursing (RN) experience
Active License as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State in which s/he will be practicing or the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state by the cohort start date 2/16/2026
BLS certification - American Heart Association
2 Letters of recommendation
- Unofficial Transcripts with GPA
Additional certifications may be required based on population(s) served and services provided
Must be able to complete entire program with a perfect attendance record
Must be able to work 3 days per week after completing first 12 weeks
Must be able to work and train on either night or day shifts including holidays
Must agree to terms and conditions of the program
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
- AHA ACLS
