A PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Alabama often assists patients with motor skills, daily living tasks, and adaptive techniques during home visits. They work under licensed OTs’ guidance, tailoring treatments to individual needs while managing flexible schedules to accommodate patient demands and caseload fluctuations.
In Alabama, COTAs must hold an active state license and meet national certification standards. State licensure requires passing the NBCOT exam and adhering to continuing education mandates. For home health roles, CPR certification is often mandatory to ensure patient safety during in-home care.
Encompass Health invests in COTAs through ongoing education, scholarship programs, and access to cutting-edge technology. This approach empowers assistants to enhance skills continuously, stay current with home health innovations, and advance professionally within a collaborative and ethical work environment.
The PRN role at Encompass Health offers flexible scheduling without guaranteed hours, ideal for professionals seeking work-life balance or supplementary income. Despite part-time status, PRN COTAs receive access to training and benefits proportional to their engagement, contributing directly to patient care on an as-needed basis.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants in Gadsden typically earn between $50,000 and $60,000 annually, slightly below the national home health average due to regional cost of living.
