Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist III, internally referred to as our Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or CLS III Lead Point of Care. The Clinical Lab Scientist III (CLS III Point of Care Coordinator) will hold a more advanced role with technical oversite responsibilities. The CLS III Lead Point of Care Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate operation of the laboratory, contributing to high-quality patient care through their advanced skills and leadership.
Bonus Options: up to $10,000 (Paid out as stipends every 90 days)

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment using both manual and automated methods in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and any other discipline as introduced into the laboratory
- Interpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care
- Execute and oversee complex laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids, this may include both routine and specialized tests, that require a higher level of expertise
- Mentor junior laboratory staff and technicians, provide guidance, and ensure adherence to protocols and standards, you may also be responsible for training new employees
- Review quality control performance, ensure documentation of corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, you may also calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
- Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems
- Ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- ASCP certification or equivalent
- Minimum five years of hospital laboratory work experience
- Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489)
- Current and valid state license if the laboratory is located in a state where required
