What You'll Be Doing
Oversees and ensures diligent evaluation, implementation, maintenance and support of assigned laboratory information systems (LIS) across the 3 hospital network in Hudson County in coordination with Information Technology and hospital clinical departments. Overall responsibility for the day to day operations of all aspects of the Laboratory Information System. Works effectively through all phases of the systems development life cycle from a clinical perspective to ensure that the implementation of laboratory information systems meet clinical and regulatory requirements. Works closely with Information Technology professionals and functions as a liaison, coordinating system implementation, maintenance and support for clinical staff using information systems to resolve functional and technical issues. Recommends development/modifications to policies and procedures impacted by clinical/laboratory information systems.
o Acts as a resource to Information Technology, Patient Care Services and other hospital staff regarding all aspects of laboratory information systems including participation in on call rotation and providing end user functional supporto Develop and maintain system documentation and protocolso Recommends development/modifications of policies and procedures impacted by laboratory information systems.o Configures, installs and maintains all LIS input and output devices.o Troubleshoots and oversees the resolution of all system software, connectivity and hardware problems as it pertains to the LIS o Installs and/or maintains interfaces between the LIS, laboratory instruments, and the electronic medical record.o Assist with system audits and evaluationso Creates a climate for collaborative problem solving of identified issues and problems and coordinates improvement initiatives among all users of information technology.o Provides leadership for system implementation and project management.o Functions as a liaison from Information Technology with end users for the entire system life cycle.o Identifies educational needs and collaborates with educational services to design and implement end user education. Conducts and coordinates formal/informal education and training for users of all assigned systems.o Conforms to formal IT methodology standards.o Be available for after hours and on-call support.
What We're Looking For
Education:B.S.M.T. (ASCP) (preferred)Associate’s Degree in medical laboratory science, or related field.Experience:Meditech Laboratory Information System Analyst experience (preferred)
Medical Technologist experience (preferred)

- Pay Range: $65,000 - 70,000/year
