Responsibilities
The Surgical Tech prepares and assists surgical procedures during the intraoperative phase of the perioperative process.
- Responsible for providing for and anticipating the surgeons’ needs during a procedure while maintaining the sterile field, adhering to principles of aseptic technique, and ensuring safety with all counted items.
- Assists preparation for procedures by assisting with completion, wrapping, and processing of instruments in Sterile Processing.
Qualifications
Required:
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
Certified Surgical Technologist
BLS certification (or obtained within 3 months of employment)
Preferred:
Minimum of one-year experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care hospital operating room
Pediatric and/or orthopaedic experience
