Frequently asked questions
For telemetry-focused LVN roles, possessing a valid California LVN license, ACLS certification within 30 days of hire, current BCLS, and IV certification is critical. These credentials ensure competence in cardiac monitoring and intravenous therapy, which are essential in acute care settings like those at Centinela Hospital Medical Center.
Telemetry LVNs engage more with cardiac monitoring and managing patients with complex cardiac conditions. Unlike general nursing roles, they must interpret telemetry data, administer IV medications, and collaborate closely with RNs for patient care plans, especially during night shifts at acute-care hospitals such as Centinela.
Specializing in telemetry opens pathways toward RN bridge programs and specialized cardiac care certifications. In California, telemetry LVNs can leverage their IV certification and acute care experience to pursue roles in critical care units or telehealth nursing, enhancing their professional growth.
Centinela Hospital offers an award-winning culture emphasizing quality and patient safety, with a top 5% national ranking. LVNs here benefit from advanced cardiac services, robotics programs, and comprehensive benefits, fostering a supportive atmosphere for telemetry nursing professionals.
Centinela provides flexible benefits like paid time off and voluntary options, helping night-shift LVNs manage personal commitments. The hospital’s commitment to community and compassion creates a workplace where telemetric LVNs can maintain balance despite the demanding acute care environment.
The compensation range spans approximately $28.00 to $37.68 per hour, influenced by individual skills, experience, education, and licensure. Centinela balances competitive pay with a strong benefits package, reflecting the high-demand acute care setting in Inglewood, CA.
Inglewood’s acute care sector shows robust demand for LVNs skilled in IV certification, especially in telemetry units. Hospitals like Centinela prioritize such qualifications due to the complex patient needs and safety standards, making these roles highly sought-after locally.
While the California LVN license and IV certification are mandatory, local employers in Inglewood favor candidates with ACLS and BCLS to align with acute care protocols. Familiarity with regional health regulations and telehealth nursing trends can further enhance employability.
Adapting to telemetry requires mastering cardiac rhythm interpretation and IV therapy under RN supervision. The fast-paced acute care setting demands vigilance and quick decision-making, which can be challenging but rewarding for LVNs committed to patient safety and advanced nursing skills.
Centinela invests in its LVNs through tuition reimbursement and ongoing training opportunities, fostering skill advancement in telemetry and IV certification maintenance. This focus on education helps nurses stay current with best practices in patient care within a nationally recognized facility.
