Responsibilities
The Assistant General Counsel – Contracts must be a seasoned attorney with deep contracting experience in the healthcare industry, specifically including all manner of IT contracts, vendor contracts, supply chain contracts, physician agreements, joint ventures, non-disclosure agreements, and affiliation agreements. This position must provide advice and counsel on a variety of contracts, including legal support with review, drafting, and negotiating, as needed. This position is within the Legal Department, but also works closely with key leadership at both the corporate and local levels across the Prime Healthcare system, including the corporate Chief Information Officer, to provide legal support. This position must be practical and solution oriented, and able to work with business units to solve legal challenges.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Required qualifications:
1. J.D. from ABA Accredited Law School
2. Member in Good Standing of State Bar of California.
3. Strong knowledge of and broad experience with healthcare contracting, including IT contracts.
4. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications:
1. Minimum of seven (7) years of prior legal experience in law firm, public sector, and/or in-house position.
2. At least 2-3 years of healthcare contracting experience.
3. Excellent contract review, drafting and negotiation skills.
4. Experience with IT contracts required.
5. Experience with healthcare regulatory compliance matters.
6. Experience/expertise in providing advice, counsel and all manner legal support of all healthcare contracting, including consideration of federal and state law compliance requirements.
7. Ability to work independently and exercise appropriate judgment.

Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $153,753.60 to $249,600.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
