Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized care and support aligned with individual Plans of Care.
- Assist participants with personal care needs such as dining, toileting, mobility, and transfers.
- Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to implement positive behavioral supports.
- Plan and implement engaging and age-appropriate group and individual activities.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy program environment.
- Transport participants as assigned, including stepping in to drive when needed.
- Foster growth and independence by teaching skills, encouraging choices, and respecting individuality.
- Maintain participant privacy, dignity, and cultural appropriateness in all interactions.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma/GED/HiSET required.
- Standard driver’s license (Class C or D).
- 1–3 years of related experience preferred.
- Completion of healthcare training or competency evaluation program preferred.
- Alternative qualifications: A high school diploma and one year of related activities experience, or a relevant college degree with the ability to complete onsite competency training.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Activity planning and recreational skills.
- Health and safety protocols to ensure participant well-being.
- Assistance with daily living activities such as personal hygiene and mobility.
- Team collaboration and strong communication skills.
- Basic first aid knowledge and the ability to address minor emergencies.
