The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the daily operations of the pharmacy. This role is responsible for supporting the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications while ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists in processing and filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
Maintain inventory by receiving, stocking, and tracking medications and supplies.
Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
Prepare labels, count medications, and package prescriptions as directed by the pharmacist.
Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and regulatory standards.
Support the pharmacy team with administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred
2. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required or obtained within 6 months of hire date (this requirement may be waived for current pharmacy students enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy)
3. State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required
4. High school diploma or equivalent
5. Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program preferred
6. 340B program experience preferred
