Orthopedic Physician Assistants focus on musculoskeletal issues, assisting in surgeries and managing acute and chronic bone and joint conditions. Beyond a PA program completion, orthopedic PAs benefit from residency or hands-on experience in orthopedics, alongside certifications like BLS and PALS. Surgical assisting proficiency and familiarity with vascular or neurosurgical subspecialties further boost their capability to manage complex orthopedic cases confidently.

Daily work includes patient evaluation, assisting in orthopedic surgeries, managing treatment plans, and coordinating care with supervising physicians. You'll engage in both medical and surgical services, contributing to patient-centered, compassionate care in a team-oriented clinic environment.

Legacy Health’s reputation and the community’s size create a moderately competitive landscape for orthopedic PAs. Silverton’s proximity to Portland increases job appeal, but demand remains balanced, offering strong opportunities for qualified candidates with surgical experience.

Legacy Health’s mission to improve lives instills a compassionate, patient-centered atmosphere that shapes clinical practice. Orthopedic PAs experience a culture emphasizing ethical care, teamwork, and inclusivity, enhancing job satisfaction and fostering meaningful patient relationships.

Ideal applicants possess a bachelor’s degree, accredited PA program completion, orthopedic residency or equivalent experience, and current BLS and PALS certifications.
