Job Summary and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Ensures staff follows all infection control policies.
- Decontaminates surgical instruments, power equipment and other medical devices.
- Knowledge and use of sterilizers - ultrasonic, Washers, Cart Washer, and high level disinfection.
- Coordinates sterilizing schedule to meet the instrumentation needs of all ORs and clinics.
- Ability to sort, identify and process instrumentation on a priority basis.
- Works as relief lead in Supervisor's absence.

Job Requirements
Minimum:
High School Diploma/GED
3 years surgical instrument experience
One of the following certifications: CRCST, CSPDS, CSPDT or CSPDT-CBSPD
Preferred:
Completion of a surgical instrument technician program
