Overview
Our Comfort Care Center Cook is responsible for the preparation and serving of patient meals and cleaning of the kitchen. This is designated as a safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities
- Prepares all food for patient meals including special diets in a safe and sanitary manner
- Cooks in quantities according to menu and patient census
- Checks and logs temperatures of refrigerated equipment and food
- Assists with stocking and storing of food upon delivery
- Performs cleaning duties according to cleaning schedule
- Ensures work area is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion
- Works first position on serving line during meal service
- Adheres to department and facility policy and procedures
- Maintains strict confidentiality of patient and family information
- Carries out duties and responsibilities in a manner that exemplifies excellent customer service
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED, Associate degree in Culinary Arts preferred
- Must be able to read and write
- Must be able to present information and respond to questions from supervisor, patients, and families
- Must be able to define problems
