Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Dental Hygienist, you will provide essential oral healthcare services and patient education, profoundly impacting the dental health and overall well-being of individuals.
Every day you will expertly perform dental cleanings, administer preventative treatments, conduct oral health assessments, and meticulously educate patients on proper oral hygiene and disease prevention techniques.
To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a compassionate, detail-oriented demeanor, contributing to optimal oral health outcomes and positive patient experiences.
- Provide direct care to patients in the trauma, medical, and cardiovascular intensive care units.
- Provide oral care for critically ill patients who are intubated and at risk for ventilator-associated pneumonia.
- Perform the bedside oral exam and complete the oral care protocol as specified in the Bedside Oral Care policy.
- Perform oral care that includes brushing teeth and gums, debriding tongue, rinsing with chlorhexidine, and applying oral moisturizer.
- Use specific oral hygiene aids and products as specified in the Bedside Oral Care policy.
- Coordinate patient care planning and follow up.
Required
- Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program and One year of clinical dental hygiene experience, upon hire and
- Dental Hygienist: AZ, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Preferred
- Two years clinical dental hygiene experience. and
- Experience working in a hospital setting with inpatients and
- Experience with providing presentations,educating, or training adults in large or small group settings
