Frequently asked questions

New York's dynamic fashion scene requires graphic production artists to be agile, mastering tools like Adobe Suite and understanding textile printing nuances. They must quickly translate design concepts into production-ready artwork, balancing creativity with technical precision to keep up with tight deadlines and evolving trends.

The offered salary range of $66,000 to $68,000 for this role is competitive within NYC’s lifestyle brand market. It reflects both the high cost of living and the specialized skills needed in graphic production, particularly those familiar with PLM systems and fabric print design.

Entry-level graphic artists must navigate complex production workflows, including tech pack creation and fabric print adaptation, while collaborating effectively with design and production teams. Mastering industry-specific software and understanding fabric limitations are crucial to meet Centric Brands’ quality and innovation standards.

Mastery of fabric printing processes, such as rotary and flatbed printing, is vital for ensuring production artwork translates accurately from design to finished product. This knowledge helps avoid costly errors and aligns the art with material and manufacturing constraints in apparel production.

Graphic artists can progress by deepening expertise in digital design and production technologies, potentially moving into lead production artist or product development manager roles. Centric Brands’ emphasis on innovation and cross-functional collaboration fosters skill expansion and leadership pathways.

Centric Brands encourages associates to participate in programs like Centric Cares and the D&I committee, promoting volunteerism and inclusive workplace culture. This involvement enriches the employee experience and aligns creative work with broader company values.

While the role primarily focuses on production art, involvement with initiatives such as 'Be Green' reflects Centric Brands’ commitment to sustainability. Associates may influence material and print choices that align with eco-conscious standards within the fast-moving New York apparel ecosystem.

Commuting in NYC can be time-consuming, so many associates balance hybrid work schedules to optimize productivity and reduce transit stress. Centrally located offices and flexible hours help maintain work-life balance amid the city's fast pace.

This role demands proficiency in production-specific software like Flex PLM, expertise in pattern repeats for fabric printing, and knowledge of technical callouts for embroidery or appliques. These skills go beyond general graphic design, focusing on manufacturability and product lifecycle management.

Centric Brands values strong communication within cross-departmental teams, emphasizing clarity in conveying design intent and production requirements. Associates must be collaborative, detail-oriented, and responsive to feedback to meet fast-paced project timelines.
