Responsibilities
The EEG Technologist I is an entry to mid-level position in the Neurodiagnostics department. The EEG Technologist I performs electroencephalography (EEG), long-term monitoring for epilepsy (LTME), continuous EEG monitoring (cEEG) and ambulatory monitoring. Works with neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations on inpatient units and in the outpatient laboratory. During EEG procedures for which competence has not been achieved, the EEG Technologist I train under direct technical supervision. Once training is complete and all competencies have been achieved, the EEG Technologist I work under indirect or general supervision based on level of competency. Requires ability to work at all Legacy hospitals, float between sites during shift, and to take night, weekend and holiday call as scheduled.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma required. Current enrollment in or graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program, or an Associate’s Degree or higher with emphasis on physical or biological science from an accredited college or university or equivalent training.
Experience: Six months or more experience working in a patient care environment.
Skills: Strong communication skills and working proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic systems.
Licensure
Licensure/Certification: AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
Pay Range
