Overview
We are seeking an Operating Room Technologist, sometimes referred to as a Surgical Technician Surgical Tech or Scrub Tech. An OR Tech will prepare, maintain, and assist in the operating room (OR) to ensure surgeries run smoothly and safely, including management surgical instruments. You will be part of the surgical team, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to create a safe and efficient environment for surgery, helping surgeries proceed smoothly.
Bonus Options: up to $5,000 (Paid out as quarterly stipends)

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, sterilizing equipment, and arranging necessary supplies such as surgical drapes, sponges, and gowns
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly before the surgery begins, this may include surgical lights, suction machines, and monitoring devices
- Assist with preparing and draping the surgical site on the patient to maintain a sterile field, helping prevent infections
- Hand instruments, sponges, and other supplies to surgeons and nurses as needed throughout the procedure, know the functions of each tool, and anticipate what the surgeon may need next
- Monitor the sterile field and ensure it remains uncontaminated, if anything becomes unsterile, it is their responsibility to quickly replace it or inform the team
- Count all instruments, sponges, and other materials before and after surgery
- Reset the operating room after surgery, ensure it is stocked and organized for the next procedure, following strict protocols for safety and hygiene
- This position does not require being on-call nor working weekends/holidays!
Qualifications
Education and Training
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- Graduation from an accredited ORT/Surgical Tech program AND minimum one year of experience
- On-the-job trained techs: minimum 2 years experience in a main OR surgical setting
- Must be proficient in the following specialties: ENT and Plastics
- Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., General, Ortho, Urology, Ophthalmic, Pain, Colo-Rectal)
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
