Responsibilities
- Support and implement speech-language programs designed by the supervising SLP
- Assist with goal development and track student progress through accurate documentation
- Provide feedback to the SLP on student performance and AAC device use
- Communicate regularly with the SLP/Lead SLP and school staff
- Help educate students, families, and school personnel on therapy strategies
- Maintain competency and follow best practices in speech-language support
- Identify additional student needs and refer to the SLP as appropriate
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of speech language pathology assistant with an Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Licensure: Current State License to practice Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience: One year experience as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant preferred.
- Skills: Therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. Good interpersonal skills.
