Legacy Silverton Medical Center serves the heart of the Willamette Valley with a wide mix of services, many not typically available in a community hospital: CT scan (computerized tomography), nuclear medicine, echocardiography, family birth center and much more.
Responsibilities
Serves as the accountable department manager for a designated patient care unit or department(s)
Oversees all daily operational activities, including:
Staffing and scheduling
Departmental planning and budgeting
Ensuring efficient care delivery systems and processes
Ensures delivery of safe, high-quality care and an exceptional patient and family experience
Assumes 24/7 responsibility for all departmental functions
Maintains effective interprofessional communication and fosters a positive work environment
Promotes and supports shared governance principles
Ensures staff education and competency for patient care
Collaborates routinely and effectively with physicians, peers, and Legacy leadership
Aligns departmental goals and operations with Legacy’s strategic objectives
Qualifications
Education:
- An academic degree in nursing is required (BSN or MSN/MN).
- Master’s degree required.
- MSN/MN preferred.
- Internal candidates promoting from Assistant Nurse Manager may meet the master’s degree requirement with verification of a master’s degree in progress with an expected completion date within 2 years of the promotion date; progress will be reported periodically to the site CNO. Assistant Nurse Managers filling this role on an interim basis are not required to have an MSN/MN in progress so long as the assignment does not exceed 3 months, unless approved by CNO.
Experience:
- Two years of leadership practice experience required.
- Demonstrated growth in leadership responsibilities and breadth desired.
- Previous clinical experience specific to the appropriate area of specialty practice is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical operations, including staffing and scheduling, budget management, workflow planning, staff development, quality, safety and patient experience management.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and leadership skills, and a willingness to lead by example.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions are essential.
Licensure
- Current RN licensure for applicable state.
- Specialty specific certification highly desirable.
Pay Range
