Position Summary
The part-time Lead Custodian is responsible for ensuring PeoplsBank Arena meets or exceeds standards of cleanliness to the utmost in guest satisfaction before, during, and after all events. Lead Custodians must aid in the oversight of all custodial work.
This role pays an hourly rate of $17.12-$17.98 (per CBA).
Benefits as per the union agreement.
This position will remain open until December 31, 2025.

PeoplesBank Arena will continue to be the center of sports and entertainment for Hartford and the State of Connecticut for years to come.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the training, coaching, and supervision of custodial staff
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work and arrive for each scheduled shift on time, in uniform and ready to work
- Ability to work morning, afternoon and/or overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours at a time, to kneel, stoop, climb stairs and reach above head as well as perform repetitive motions in connection with cleaning tasks
- Ability to follow verbal instructions & read written instructions especially relating to cleaning products & SDS
- Performs light and heavy cleaning tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning bathrooms, locker rooms, sweeping, mopping, disposing of garbage, etc.
- Restocks restrooms with supplies
- Works safely, quickly, and efficiently to meet all deadlines
- Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor and acknowledges guests in a friendly manner
- Possesses basic computer skills
- All other tasks assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications
- 2 years cleaning or event related experience required
- Prior lead or supervisory responsibilities preferred
- Basic understanding of how to use cleaning equipment
- Ability to operate scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors, etc.
- Basic understanding of SDS
- Basic understanding of PPE
