Position Summary
A Food Runner is a crucial member of the restaurant or catering team responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of food from the kitchen to the customers' tables. The primary role of a Food Runner is to facilitate effective communication between the kitchen staff and the serving staff, contributing to a positive dining experience for patrons.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $7.50, plus tips.

Responsibilities
Transport dishes from the kitchen to the appropriate tables in a timely and organized manner, ensuring that orders are accurately delivered.
Collaborate with kitchen and serving staff to maintain clear communication about order statuses, special requests, and any other relevant information.
Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure that all components of a meal are ready for delivery simultaneously, maintaining the overall flow of service.
Inspect dishes for accuracy, presentation, and overall quality before delivering them to customers. Report any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate personnel.
Provide excellent customer service by being attentive to customers' needs, answering questions, and addressing concerns in a professional and friendly manner.
Assist in clearing empty plates and utensils from tables, resetting them for new diners, and maintaining overall cleanliness in the dining area.
Collaborate with servers, chefs, and other restaurant staff to create a positive and efficient work environment.
Familiarize yourself with the menu to accurately describe dishes and assist customers with inquiries.
Qualifications
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
- Clear communication with both kitchen and serving staff, as well as customers.
- Efficient in managing multiple tasks and orders simultaneously.
- Ensure accuracy in food orders and quality control.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor when interacting with customers.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to handle unexpected situations and changes in priorities.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Three or more months’ experience in food service industry preferred
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
