Elderwood Health Plan is a New York State-approved Managed Long-Term Care (MLTC) plan.
It provides long-term care services to residents of Erie, Niagara, Monroe, Orleans, Genesee or Wyoming counties who are 21 years of age or older. Elderwood Health Plan (EHP) has a new, rewarding opportunity as we are seeking an Educator (RN) to join our team!
Position Overview:
- The Educator is responsible to work collaboratively with management staff and nursing representatives to ensure implementation of orientation, compliance, and continuing in-service education programs based on Department of Health-issued regulations, guidance, and policy updates for EHP personnel.
- Develops, coordinates, and evaluates educational programs for the orientation and development of staff.
- Develops, plans, and implements a program of education for all personnel, including orientation of new personnel to EHP policy, planning and operational techniques.

Educator (RN)
- Is recognized as a “super user” with all clinical aspects of the EMR and serves as a resource for EHP staff.
- Schedules, teaches and leads onboarding education of policies and procedures.
- Assists in auditing to ensure knowledge retention.
- Serves as a resource and mentor for new staff, providing education and support as appropriate.
- Coordinates and/or leads delivery of corporate mandatory in-service education.
- Plans and leads General Orientation Program (with support by other department heads).
- Helps staff with CEUs.
- Coordinates, with management, department-based orientation programs for new staff.
- Plans, coordinates, and presents regular and special education sessions for staff to acquaint them with new care management practices, procedures, policies, or skills.
- Stays up-to-date on guidelines, regulations and company policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Educator (RN)
- Credentials as a Registered Nurse (RN) with current state license in good standing in the state in which work is performed
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in managed care preferred
- Knowledge of UASNY assessment and system preferred
- Demonstrated computer skills and ability to work with a variety of platforms and applications including Microsoft Office, electronic medical records (EMR) and learning management systems (LMS)
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- Demonstrated experience in education preferred
- This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
