Job Summary and Responsibilities

A Student Nurse attending a accredited registered nursing program performs student nursing duties for a selected patient population within the guidelines of hospital policies and procedures under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and indirect supervision of the Nurse Manager and/or Nursing Shift Manager. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of California Hospital Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support California Hospital Medical Center strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement, process, and activities.


Job Requirements

Minimum

  • High School Diploma/GED 
  • Enrollment in an accredited board certified registered nursing program working towards obtaining direct patient clinical experience
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • Fire Safety within 90 days of hire

Preferred

  • Completion of at least three semesters of RN program (without RN license). Must commit to at least 12 months of employment
