Frequently asked questions
In Glen Allen, VA, a physical therapist must hold a current, unrestricted state license and maintain live CPR certification. Local employers often require a two-step TB skin test and proof of auto insurance to comply with state regulations and ensure readiness for home visits.
Glen Allen shows steady growth in home health physical therapy openings due to its aging population and healthcare expansion. Compared to larger metro areas, competition is moderate, offering promising opportunities for therapists seeking work-life balance and community-focused care.
Home Health Physical Therapists excel in personalized, one-on-one care within diverse home environments. Skills like adaptability, patient safety during transfers, and strong communication with families are crucial, differing from clinic-based roles that often focus on group sessions and equipment-based therapy.
Therapists in home health can progress to lead therapist roles, clinical educators, or management positions within agencies. Additionally, gaining expertise in geriatric care and trauma-informed interventions can open doors to specialized therapy programs and community health leadership.
Adoration Home Health & Hospice emphasizes a holistic, trauma-informed care model that integrates mindfulness and personalized exercise plans. This fosters emotional wellbeing alongside physical recovery, creating a nurturing environment that distinguishes it from conventional therapy providers.
The company offers free continuing education through MedBridge, flexible scheduling, and a supportive leadership team. These resources empower therapists to stay current with evidence-based practices and balance professional development alongside quality patient care.

Therapists tailor interventions based on patient independence; independent living clients often require strength and balance coaching for fall prevention, while assisted living residents may need more hands-on support and coordination with multidisciplinary teams for safety.
Unlike telehealth-only roles, home health physical therapists physically visit patients' residences, which demands travel and hands-on care. The 'work from home' term can mislead job seekers expecting remote work without in-person responsibilities.
With an increasing elderly population and expanded home health services, Glen Allen currently experiences moderate demand. While there's competition, skilled therapists with home health experience and certifications are well-positioned to secure roles promptly.
