How you make a difference
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is responsible for providing a full range of medical services for patients under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and other site Physicians. They work within established policy and procedure, as well as state guidelines, to deliver high-quality care to patients seeking MAT for substance abuse disorders. The NP also ensures accurate documentation of services and communicates effectively with the Medical Director and site director to maintain coverage of medical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts on-site chronic care clinics and sick call as established by Site Medical Director, Health Services Administrator, or designee.
- Provides emergency treatment on-site and responds appropriately in urgent or emergency situations.
- Prescribes a planned regimen of total patient care, which is adequate, problem-oriented, and appropriate to the needs of the patient.
- Supports standards of medical care through adherence to existing policies and procedures.
- Reports any doubts or questions regarding the lack of appropriate referrals, nursing or medical intervention necessary for the realization of established patient goals to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator for disposition.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or an accredited education program for Physician Assistant
- Advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Experience
- 2 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Licenses/Certifications
- Must have and maintain current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant within the state of employment.
- Must have and maintain current CPR certification.
- Must have or be willing to obtain DATA 2000 Waiver prior to employment.
