Job Description
Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is seeking a versatile and service-minded Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple outlets, including our restaurants and pool bar, providing warm, attentive service in a variety of settings. The ideal candidate is adaptable, personable, and confident working independently across different environments and shifts.
Weekend availability is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of craft cocktails, beverages, and menu items with precision and creativity, adhering to the Omni Tempe Hotel’s high standards of quality.
- Engage with guests to provide a memorable experience, offering recommendations and personalizing interactions to meet guest preferences.
- Ensure the bar and serving areas are clean, organized, and well-stocked, maintaining a safe and inviting environment for guests.
- Handle cash and payment transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor and manage bar inventory, including ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal liquor laws.
- Work flexibly across bartending and serving roles, ensuring seamless service.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bartender and server, ideally in a high-volume hotel or resort setting.
- Exceptional knowledge of mixology, including craft cocktail preparation and presentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for engaging with a diverse range of guests.
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Availability to work weekends.
- Current food handler’s card and alcohol service certification as per local, state, or federal regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in hospitality or related field is a plus.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, place, and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs.
*This position is a part-time, on-site position with no work from home flexibility.
