Frequently asked questions

Working 'Asleep Overnight' means you'll provide essential overnight care, ensuring safety and well-being while supporting individuals with disabilities during rest hours. Responsibilities include monitoring, administering medications per protocols, and responding to needs quietly, which differs from daytime active engagement roles.

Overnight positions often serve as a valuable foundation, offering experience in specialized care. Progression can lead to supervisory roles or specialized certifications like MAP, enhancing skills for higher-paying or more complex support roles within community services.

Besides a high school diploma and valid driver's license, certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Program (MAP) are either required or provided. These ensure readiness to manage health and safety needs during overnight shifts effectively.

Seven Hills Foundation offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance via Blue Cross Blue Shield, a retirement plan with up to 33% employer match, tuition assistance, and generous paid time off including vacation, personal days, and holidays, fostering a balanced life alongside overnight work.

Seven Hills Foundation emphasizes personalized support that encourages independence, providing training and resources for employees to assist individuals in daily living, community participation, and skill development, aligning the role with its mission to promote personal well-being and autonomy.

Unlike many providers, Seven Hills Foundation integrates extensive paid training, certification assistance, and enhanced retirement benefits specifically for overnight caregivers, along with a mission-driven environment focused on inclusion and empowerment, making it a standout employer in Fairhaven’s healthcare sector.

The hourly pay starts at $20.50, increasing to $21.50 for employees with MAP certification. This competitive wage reflects the overnight responsibilities and specialized skills required for supporting individuals with disabilities in a residential setting.

Fairhaven shows steady demand for overnight direct care roles due to a growing aging population and disability support needs. Nonprofits like Seven Hills Foundation are actively hiring, offering stable positions with attractive benefits that appeal to candidates seeking meaningful, community-focused overnight work.

Having local knowledge or community connections can enhance your effectiveness, as familiarity with regional services and networks supports better advocacy and integration for clients. While certifications like MAP are mandatory, community engagement is highly valued.

An overnight shift primarily involves quietly monitoring residents to ensure safety, assisting with medication administration, and supporting personal care routines as needed. Balancing vigilance with respect for residents’ rest requires attentiveness, adaptability, and compassionate presence throughout the night.
