Frequently asked questions

Working as a Neuropsychologist PRN in Dallas offers flexible scheduling, typically within weekday hours, allowing professionals to tailor clinical hours around personal commitments. This flexibility supports a balanced lifestyle, especially in a city where healthcare demands are high but varied across facilities.

PRN roles focus on per diem work, providing neuropsychological assessments and consultations without the full-time inpatient responsibilities. This often means engaging primarily with outpatient rehab patients and having more control over shifts, contrasting with the continuous patient management seen in inpatient settings.

Daily duties involve conducting clinical neuropsychological evaluations, interpreting test results, and offering actionable insights to patients and care teams. The role emphasizes supporting recovery from brain injuries through targeted cognitive assessments and feedback within outpatient settings.

Dallas has a growing demand for neuropsychology professionals, particularly in rehabilitation centers. However, PRN positions often attract candidates seeking flexible hours, making competition moderate. Licensure and specialized fellowship training enhance a candidate's prospects in this market.

Texas requires neuropsychologists to hold valid state licenses, with preference for candidates eligible for or holding board certification in clinical neuropsychology or rehabilitation psychology. Completion of APA-accredited internships and fellowships significantly improves eligibility for PRN roles.

Select Medical emphasizes integrating per diem neuropsychologists into multidisciplinary rehabilitation services, focusing on flexible schedules and specialized outpatient care. Their reputation for high-quality rehabilitation attracts professionals seeking dynamic, patient-focused roles within a leading hospital network.

Select Medical offers access to continuing education and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team at the Baylor Scott & White Institute. PRN neuropsychologists benefit from exposure to a large patient base and resources aimed at advancing rehabilitation psychology expertise.

The position offers a competitive PRN rate of $70 per hour, reflecting local market standards for specialized neuropsychological assessment and consultation in outpatient rehabilitation settings within Dallas.

Neuropsychologist PRNs often step in for complex cognitive evaluations after brain injuries, providing detailed feedback to patients and care teams. This role is vital when fluctuating patient loads require expert neurobehavioral assessments to guide rehabilitation plans.

While Dallas traffic can be variable, the institute's location near downtown offers multiple transit options and ample parking. Many professionals find the commute manageable, especially given the flexible scheduling inherent in PRN roles.
