Job Summary and Responsibilities
PRN Hours Vary
The Mammography Technologist performs mammography, assisting physicians with needle wire, localization procedures, biopsy procedures and other specialized Breast Services procedures and bone density.
Work is serving the following age specific patient populations for general radiology, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. For Breast Services and mammography adults and geriatrics.
The Mammography Technologists assist the Lead Mammography technologists with maintaining the quality control and quality assurance program including meeting all requirements for tracking and follow up
Job Requirements
Education
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of accredited school of radiologic technology.
- Registered ARRT and Certified in Mammography.
- Currently meets and maintains all requirements for Mammography Technologist as outlined in MQSA.
- Obtains initial training in bone density with documented continuing education specific to this modality.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
Experience
- Complies with personnel requirements by the accrediting body.
- Mammography experience.
Equipment and Skills
- Understands mammography-related equipment.
- Understands Dexa Bone Density equipment
- Familiar with quality control/quality assurance equipment and requirements.
- All Diagnostic Imaging approved instrumentation, computers and communication equipment.
