What You'll Be Doing
As a Clinical Dietitian you will be responsible for providing basic nutrition assessments and care planning for patients. Assessing the nutritional needs of patients; providing quality nutritional care and monitoring response to nutrition therapy as appropriate to age-specific nutrition.
- Ensures that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times
- Provides clinical nutrition assessment and documentation for general medical and surgical oncology, bariatric/weight management and critical care
- Identify and provide age-specific nutrition counseling to meet the cultural needs of the patients and their families.
- Maintains quality assurance and evaluates compliance with corporate policies and procedures and State and Federal guidelines
- Assists in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating the Food & Nutrition Department, its programs and activities
- Assists Food & Nutrition team members in use of departmental policies and procedures
- Provides written/oral reports to the Administrator or required concerning the operations of the Food & Nutrition Department
- Manages and improves policies, procedures, and programs to assure compliance with regulatory requirements by making oral/written recommendations to the Clinical Nutrition Manager
- Develops and participates in educational sessions for team members to increase knowledge of staff and improve resident care for the Food & Nutrition Department
- Reviews appropriate web sites, publications and other educational materials to ensure that the standards of practice are being achieved
- Monitors food temperature and taste through the use of Test Trays, Meal Evaluations and review of Food Temperature Logs
- Performs other related duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
Full Time, Day Shift
- Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Science or closely related field
- Up to 1 yr of post degree course work and/or internship with no previous external experience required
- Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist registration with American Dietetic Association required at time of hire
- AHA BLS Provider Certification required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of current computer systems, equipment or programs used in the organization, knowlegdge of MediTech a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc.
