Job Summary and Responsibilities
As an ED Tech, you will provide crucial support and direct patient care in the fast-paced Emergency Department, ensuring efficient operations and compassionate assistance during critical moments.
Every day you will expertly assist with patient admissions and discharges, perform vital signs and basic medical procedures, maintain a clean and organized environment, and meticulously document observations to support the nursing staff and physician team.
To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability, strong communication skills, and a calm, proactive demeanor, contributing significantly to timely patient care and a smooth-running ED.
- Consistently, accurately & timely: transcribes physician orders. 100% accuracy is the goal.
- Correctly transcribes orders in EHR system, and signs off orders per FHMC policy
- Correctly transcribes orders during downtime procedures.
- Notifies appropriate staff of medication and treatment orders.
- Consistently, accurately & timely: places patient stickers on patient charts, faxes orders to pharmacy, sends charts to medical records after discharge & adds chart forms as needed.
- Consistently, accurately & timely: files chart forms, duplicates medical records as needed, orders supplies & initiates follow-through with maintenance requests
Required
- Successful completion of Emergency Medical Technician program, upon hire
- Acute care and clinical secretary experience.
- Completion of approved Unit Clerk class or equivalent, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
- Certified Nursing Assistant: CA, upon hire or
- Emergency Medical Technician: CA, upon hire or
- Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic: CA, upon hire
