Job Overview
The OR Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the Operating Room, and performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role and quality improvement efforts. We are currently seeking a per diem OR nurse for our team! No weekends or On-Call required.
Responsibilities
- The OR Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the operating room, performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery.
- Involves patient, family, and health care team members in formulating an appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
- Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family, and health care team members.
- Ensures all components of the plan of care are documented in the patient health record.
- Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.
- Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient's condition and learning needs.
- Assists the physician in accomplishing the plan of care for the patient and to provide continuity between the patient care unit and the Operating Room.

Qualifications
Required:
- RN license in state of practice
- BLS
Preferred:
- BSN degree preferred or in progress
- 2+years acute care hospital experience
- 2+ years OR experience
- CNOR highly preferred
- Prior pediatric acute care, plastic reconstructive surgery and laser experience a plus
