Responsibilities
The Rehab Therapy Manager facilitates patient treatment and staff development. Responsible for communicating clinical issues as they relate to service or program development to the leadership team. The Rehab Therapy Manager promotes clinical development, competency and expertise in staff to maximize patient outcomes. In addition, the Rehab Therapy Manager assists with daily operational management tasks and effectively communicates on multiple levels.
- Selects qualified candidates who fit the culture and have the most potential to contribute to accomplishment of established objectives.
- Provides regular and accurate performance feedback to direct reports with focus on results, skill expansion, process improvement and learning.
- Identifies and effectively utilizes individual and team strengths to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration, ensuring the success of operational and clinical initiatives. Optimizes departmental operations by identifying current needs, strategically delegating responsibility, and planning for succession of these responsibilities.
- Identifies, responds and reports acute changes in patient status. Follows appropriate emergency procedures to insure patient safety. Coordinates and facilitates departmental response to emergency situations.
- Pursues focused skill development through continuing education, self study, involvement in professional activities and organizations.
- Utilizes the organization’s performance improvement methodology to improve quality of services provided by this position to develop program improvement initiatives. Takes an active role in implementing new PI initiatives, delegating responsibilities appropriately. Provides feedback regarding outcomes to all levels of the rehab department, in order to maximize performance improvement.
- Serves as a liaison between clinical departments and DOR and/or CEO, to effectively communicate and clarify expectations related to departmental needs and organizational initiatives, determine procedures to implement strategic goals, and provide recommendations to maximize operational efficiency.
- Consistently exhibits commitment to patient-centered care and customer service excellence and demonstrates empathy in all interactions with patients and patient families, internal and external customers by responding in a timely, professional and effective manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist required. (For Speech discipline: Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association required)
- Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years experience as a therapist with leadership experience preferred
