Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Certified Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in the manufacture, packaging, and distribution of medications and intravenous solutions; maintains records on drugs ordered by physicians; inventories, receives, unpacks, and stores pharmaceutical items; demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; and performs other related work as required. Provides primary customer service in a variety of settings and may perform other related duties as needed or assigned.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of twelve months of training and/or experience under a registered pharmacist in the manufacture, packaging, distribution, and filling of physician's medication orders in a hospital setting. .
- Must possess a valid, current certificate as a Board of Pharmacy, State of California Pharmacy Technician.
