Job Summary / Job Purpose

The Registered Nurse – Specialty Clinic provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed clinician. This role supports patient care in a community health setting by assisting providers, educating patients and families, and ensuring efficient clinic operations. The RN performs clinical duties with professionalism and minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient flow and assist in maintaining efficient clinic operations.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to support patient care needs.

  • Assess and triage patients to the appropriate department within the clinic.

  • Obtain and document accurate health histories, including medication reconciliation.

  • Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, and IV routes following nursing policies and procedures.

  • Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens for diagnostic testing.

  • Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, medications, and health management.

  • Assist with procedures as directed by the provider.

  • Maintain clinical competencies and adhere to quality and safety standards.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

Education / Accreditation / Licensure (Required & Preferred):

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required).

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).

  • Current and valid RN license from the state licensing board (required).

  • Additional specialty certifications (may be required based on the clinic specialty).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required).

Experience (Required & Preferred):

  • 2 years of nursing experience in a specialty clinic (e.g., OBGYN, cardiology, orthopedics) (required).

  • Experience in a clinical outpatient setting (preferred).
