Job Summary:

Our Critical Care Unit at St. Anthony Hospital has 16 mixed ICU and PCU private patient rooms. Our patient population includes GI bleeds, DKA, acute renal failure, acute stroke, MI, and sepsis to name a few.

The structure consists of an experienced Clinical Manager and a Clinical Coordinator, RN's and Care Assistants with support services provided by Respiratory Care, Pharmacists, PT/OT and a Dietician.  RN assignments are determined by patient census and acuity and our normal RN ratios are 3:1 for PCU patients and 2:1 or 1:1 for ICU patients with CNA support.

  • Provide comprehensive patient care by assessing conditions, implementing care plans, and performing skilled procedures.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient well-being and recovery.
  • Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, treatment plans, and managing illnesses.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, keen assessment, and attention to detail, especially in high-pressure, fast-paced situations.
  • Possess a patient-first mindset, showing compassion, empathy, and emotional resilience to advocate for those in your care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient health records and participate in continuous learning and professional development.
Job Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN license from the Washington State Board of Nursing
  • Current Healthcare BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • 1-2 years Med/Surg nursing experience 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire

Preferred: 

  • 1+ year experience in an acute care setting 
  • Previous PCU/ICU or Medical/Surgical experience
  • CRN/CCRN
  • New graduates with completion of a senior practicum in Critical Care will also be given preference for residency positions
