Responsibilities

Seasonal position, primarily ICU, with rotation to PCU as needed. October through winter months as needed.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The RN also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit. The RN is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients. They communicates with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

The RN Explorer Program is for Registered Nurses (RN) who are new graduates.  Upon hire they will function as a Registered Nurse (RN) and have the opportunity to orient on three (3) units not to exceed a total of 12 weeks. During this time they will work with a preceptor to gain knowledge and skills to achieve competency validation. At the completion of the program the Explorer will meet with Human Resources and the Explorer Program Coordinator to determine what units have open positions and the RN will move to that position.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1.      Current and valid state RN License.

2.      Current BLS (ARC or AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3.      Current ACLS (ARC or AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.

Pay Transparency

St. Mary's General Hospital offers competitive compensation and the current compensation range for this role is $41.24 to $53.47. Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
