Job Summary and Responsibilities
St. Alexius Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide high-quality, physician-ordered respiratory care. What You'll Do:
- Deliver Expert Care: Perform a full spectrum of basic and intensive respiratory therapies, including aerosol therapy, oxygen administration, mechanical ventilation management (invasive and non-invasive), airway management, and diagnostic procedures (e.g., blood gas analysis).
- Assess & Intervene: Act as a physician extender, assessing, managing, and treating patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. Participate in rapid response teams and daily patient rounds.
- Educate & Support: Provide vital patient and family education on conditions, disease management techniques, and equipment use.
- Collaborate & Communicate: Work seamlessly with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient transitions of care and foster a strong team environment.
- Innovate & Improve: Actively participate in departmental meetings, integrate evidence-based practices, and contribute to ongoing learning and quality improvement initiatives.
What You Bring:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited/AMA-certified School of Respiratory Therapy. (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Licensure: Current North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care license.
- Skills: Exceptional clinical judgment, strong communication skills, ability to manage high-stress situations calmly, and a commitment to patient respect, diversity, and confidentiality (HIPAA).
