Responsibilities
While no two days are exactly the same, here are some things you will be responsible for:
- Performing personal care tasks, including feeding, ambulation, and medical monitoring
- Assist with fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their housemates
- Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment
- Encouraging self-help activities
- Accompanying clients to scheduled appointments
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in a group home, home-like setting
- Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external

Our crisis homes provide support and supervision to person's served with disabilities and/or mental illness that need crisis intervention services and/or behavioral programs to rehabilitate/stabilize and transition person's served back to permanent housing.
- Staff are required have 2 years experience working with individuals with the following: severe mental illness, crisis, physical interventions, and behavior supports.
- Staff must be well trained and have at least 2 years expirience in using positive redirection and behavior modification programs.
- The role of staff is to maintain safety and to support person served to allow them to be the best they can be, individually and/or within the community while reducing distress and providing a purpose in their lives.
- Implement formal/informal crisis plans, program plans and/or behavioral objectives using person-centered planning.
- Maintain documentation, record keeping and participate in regular meetings and complete required training.
- Take initiative when responding to a crisis, monitor the safety of person's served, and provide support and supervision in a positive therapeutic manner with the least restrictive methods of positive intervention.
- Enable person's served to make choices in all areas of their lives. Encourage use of public resources and recreational facilities; provide community integration opportunities.
- Provide transportation for appointments and activities.
