Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently, operating the cash register, and ensuring the protection of company assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, friendly customer service

• Accurately scan and bag products

• Process payments and issue receipts

• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area

• Follow all store policies and procedures regarding cash handling

• Assist in resolving customer concerns in a courteous manner

• Stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, pricing, and product labels

• Able to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings

• Able to follow detailed written or oral instructions

• Must be physically able to:

  • Regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs

  • Frequently lift/move up to 45 lbs

  • Occasionally lift/move up to 60 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic PC and Microsoft Outlook skills

• Retail Management Certificate (a plus)

Work Environment
